We are not an agency. We are a house.

This is work. Real, dignified, professional work — done beautifully, compensated accordingly, and carried out under the protection of a house that treats you as a respected member from the first conversation.

Our companions are not performers, not escorts, and not models-for-hire. They are thoughtful, articulate adults who have chosen this as a serious chapter of their professional lives — some between academic postings, some alongside creative careers, some as their principal vocation. What unites them is taste, presence, and an unshakeable sense of themselves.

Noble & Hours is a strictly non-intimate, fully legal, social companionship atelier. Every engagement is bounded by a mutual NDA and our unambiguous house code of conduct. This work is about presence — at galas, at dinners, on travels, at the tables where interesting conversation happens. Never anything more.

We invest seriously in our circle. New companions complete a three-day training intensive; returning companions participate in quarterly workshops on language, wine, etiquette, art history, and whatever else the season calls for. You will leave better than you arrived.

Beyond the engagement fee, life inside the house comes with a set of standing benefits. They are not perks — they are the conditions we believe any professional environment should meet.

Wardrobe Credit

A monthly allowance of $800 — $1,500 for wardrobe maintenance and seasonal updates, applied at your preferred maisons through our styling director.

Legal & NDA Protection

Every engagement sits under a mutual NDA drafted by our in-house counsel. You are protected in every direction, in every city we serve.

Personal Safety Detail

On request, a quiet driver and a discreet safety contact in-venue for any engagement where you feel it would be welcome. No questions, no explanation required.

Health & Wellness Stipend

Annual stipend toward preferred medical insurance, gym membership, and one weekend retreat per year at a house-approved spa or resort.

Travel in Our Cabin

For travel engagements, you fly in the same cabin class as the client. Business or first, always — never separated, never an afterthought.

Mentorship & Community

Monthly circle dinners, mentorship pairings with senior companions, and a private channel for the atelier. You are never in this alone.

Exit on Your Terms

Thirty days' notice, no questions, no penalty. Many of our companions stay for years — we have earned that by making it easy to leave.

Right of Refusal

You may decline any engagement, pairing, or city, at any time, without explanation. This is absolute and written into every companion's terms.

What We Seek

Our standards, plainly.

These are the threads most applicants we accept share — not a checklist, but a sketch of the kind of person our circle tends to be built from. If you recognise yourself here, we would very much like to hear from you.

Note that we consider every application on its whole, and unusual backgrounds are often as welcome as conventional ones. A brilliant classicist who has never owned a black dress is as interesting to us as a seasoned hospitality professional who has.

    Fluent, articulate conversation

    Near-native English. A clear, unhurried speaking voice. The ability to hold an hour-long dinner conversation on topics you have not prepared for, with grace and curiosity.

  • II

    Between twenty-four and forty-two

    A deliberate range. We find maturity and presence generally arrive in this decade; we have no interest in applicants at either edge of it being the youngest or oldest in the room.

  • III

    University education, or equivalent worldly experience

    A degree is the common path but not the only one. We value genuine intellectual curiosity and lived experience equally. Tell us what you've actually learned.

  • IV

    A second language, at minimum

    Fluent or near-fluent in at least one language besides English. French, Italian, Spanish, German, Arabic, Russian, Mandarin, and Japanese are most frequently requested by our clients.

  • V

    Based in, or relocating to, a founding city

    New York, London, Paris, or Dubai. If you are willing to relocate to one of these, we will discuss it openly. Occasional engagements in our eight secondary cities are available to established companions.

    Two professional references

    From past employers, mentors, academics, or long-term clients from another profession. Not social references. We verify all references personally through our vetting partner.

    Clean background & verifiable identity

    Our vetting partner conducts a full background verification on every accepted applicant, at our cost. Minor historical matters rarely disqualify; undisclosed ones always will.

    Absolute discretion

    This work is protected by silence. If the idea of never discussing any aspect of an engagement with anyone — including close friends — feels difficult, this is not the right house for you.

The Rhythm

A month in the atelier.

Companionship is not constant work — most of our circle engages between four and twelve times monthly, with long stretches of quiet in between. A typical month for an established companion looks something like this.

Engagements & rest

The Path In

We take the vetting process seriously because our clients — and our existing circle — expect us to. Here is what the path from first conversation to first engagement actually looks like.

Week 1
II

First Conversation

A 45-minute video call with our director of vetting. Not an interview in any usual sense — a conversation about your background, your reasons for applying, and your questions for us. Come as you are.

Weeks 2 — 3
III

References & Background

Two professional references contacted by our vetting partner. A standard background verification at our cost. This takes approximately three weeks and is entirely confidential.

IV

In-Person Meeting

A dinner with two of our directors at a fine restaurant in your city — we pay, of course. An opportunity for you to see how we operate, and for us to experience the things a video cannot transmit.

Weeks 8 — 9
V

Wardrobe & Presentation Session

A half-day with our in-house stylist. We do not change who you are — we simply ensure you have what you need to meet every dress code, in every city, with ease.

Week 10
VI

Training Intensive

Three consecutive days at our London or New York studio. Protocol, etiquette, client handling, our house code of conduct, discretion training, and extensive role-play. Fully paid at day rate, all meals and accommodation covered.

Weeks 11 — 12
VII

Supervised Engagements

Three introductory engagements, each followed by a debrief with the director. Once you and we are entirely confident, you join the full circle. Most companions find they are ready after two.

Is this really non-intimate work?

Yes, absolutely and without exception. Our companions are booked to attend events, share meals, hold conversations, travel as social companions, and act as discreet plus-ones. Any client who attempts to cross that line forfeits their engagement and is permanently removed from our client register. This is our most important house rule — protected by explicit NDA language and backed by the full authority of our director.

Can I hold another job or study?

Yes, and most of our circle does. Companionship with us is structured around your availability. You specify your available hours each month; we respect them. Many of our companions are doctoral students, working artists, young professionals, or those pursuing their own businesses alongside this work.

What does the "acceptance rate" really mean?

It means we review every application personally, typically over two or three passes, and progress only those we feel could genuinely thrive here. Most applicants we decline are either outside our age range, not yet based in a founding city, or still finding the kind of steady self-possession our clients expect. Rejection is almost never about attractiveness — we are not casting, we are hiring colleagues.

Do I need modelling experience or professional photography?

No, and a portfolio of heavily-produced imagery can actually work against an application. We ask for two or three honest, current photographs — one portrait, one full-length, one candid if you have it. We will take professional photographs at our cost during onboarding if you are accepted.

What if a client recognises me, or I recognise them?

It happens occasionally, given the circles we operate in. You are never obliged to proceed with a pairing where this arises, and our director handles any reassignment with complete discretion. Our NDA binds both parties; the matter simply does not exist once you decline.

Is the company legally registered and compliant?

Yes. Noble & Hours is registered and tax-compliant in every jurisdiction we operate in. Companions are engaged under appropriate contractor agreements in their home country, with full documentation, deductions where required, and year-end tax statements provided. We work with an international accounting firm to ensure everyone is fully above board.

What happens if I have an engagement I'm uncomfortable with?

You leave. Your fee for that evening is paid in full regardless, and the director handles all consequences with the client — who will almost certainly never book through us again. There is no retaliation, no reduced priority, no quiet penalty. This is the single clearest line in our house code.

Can I apply if I'm not currently in New York, London, Paris, or Dubai?

If you are willing to relocate to one of our founding cities within the first months of engagement, yes — and we can discuss relocation support for particularly strong candidates. If relocation is not feasible, we maintain a small circle in our eight secondary cities on a by-arrangement basis; please note your circumstances honestly in your application.

Everything you share is held under strict confidentiality from the moment of submission — encrypted at rest, never shared, destroyed if we do not progress together.

A Note on Privacy

Your application data is encrypted, held by no more than three people, and permanently deleted within 30 days if we do not progress to first conversation. We do not share, sell, or reference your application outside the vetting process — ever.
