Chapter One

Booking & Process

How do I book an engagement?

+

The fastest route is the private inquiry form on our Contact page. Our client director will respond within twelve hours — often sooner — to open a brief, private conversation about the occasion, the city, and the profile of companion you have in mind. From there, the booking usually confirms within 24 to 48 hours.

How far in advance should I book?

+

For local evenings, three to five days is ideal and allows us to present our strongest options. For travel engagements, we request seven to ten days for European destinations and ten to fourteen for long-haul. Same-day bookings are possible in founding cities subject to availability — a surcharge applies.

Can I request the same companion again?

+

Absolutely — and many of our clients do. Our scheduling system notes previous pairings, and we will always try to accommodate a preferred companion first. For repeat engagements, we also keep a discreet file of your preferences so that each evening is better than the last.

Do I meet my companion before the engagement?

+

For most engagements, no — the pairing is confirmed and any pre-engagement briefing is handled in writing or on a brief call. For travel engagements, multi-day functions, or anything requiring a custom backstory, we arrange a short video introduction (with your camera on or off, as you prefer) a day or two beforehand.

What information do you need from me?

+

Very little, and none of it sensitive. We need: the occasion, the city, the approximate hours, the dress code, and a rough sense of the companion profile you prefer. For new clients, we do ask a single reference — either a mutual acquaintance, a concierge, or a verified professional contact — which our director handles with complete discretion.

Is there a membership or annual fee?

+

No standing membership fee. Clients book on a per-engagement basis. For family offices and high-frequency clients, our House Account programme offers a retainer structure with priority access — see the Honoraria page for details.

How do you match companions to clients?

+

Our director personally selects two or three companions from our circle whose temperament, interests, wardrobe range, and availability suit your occasion. You review anonymised profiles — always with photographs — and confirm. The selection process takes a few hours at most.

Chapter Two

The Engagements

What is — and is not — included in a standard engagement?

+

Included: a fully-prepared companion briefed on the occasion; wardrobe appropriate to the venue; discretion agreement; pre- and post-engagement coordination with our director; local transport to and between venues.

Not included: third-party costs such as event entry, dining, flights, hotels, and any purchases — all arranged separately and invoiced at cost.

Is this a romantic or intimate arrangement?

+

No. Noble & Hours is a social companionship service only. Our engagements are explicitly non-intimate, strictly professional, and legally compliant in every jurisdiction we operate in. Any implication otherwise — whether from a client or a third party — is grounds for immediate termination of the engagement. This is non-negotiable and stated plainly in every agreement.

Can I extend the engagement on the evening?

+

Yes, subject to companion availability. Extensions are billed at $500 per hour and arranged through a brief call to our director (available around the clock). We recommend a gentle understanding at the outset rather than a last-minute surprise — it makes for a more graceful evening for everyone.

Where will we meet?

+

Wherever makes most sense for the occasion — a hotel lobby, a restaurant, a venue's guest list, or a location you specify. For first engagements with new clients, our director typically recommends a public meeting point (a hotel bar or lobby). For returning clients, the arrangement is entirely your preference.

Can I end an engagement early?

+

Always, and without explanation. The agreed fee is payable in full regardless of duration. Your companion will leave with grace and our director will follow up privately the next morning to ensure everything was in order.

Are gifts appropriate? How are they handled?

+

Thoughtful gifts are never expected and always appreciated — flowers, books, small mementos. We ask that gifts of significant value (jewellery, watches, designer handbags over approximately $1,000) are routed through our director first, so they can be documented under our gift policy and handled transparently.

What if the chemistry isn't right?

+

It happens, rarely, and we have a simple protocol: call or text our director, who is standing by. For engagements longer than a single evening, we will arrange a replacement companion where possible. For a single evening, we will credit the engagement fee toward a future booking — minus third-party expenses already incurred.

Chapter Three

Travel & International

Do your companions hold current passports and visas?

+

All companions who accept travel engagements maintain current passports with at least twelve months' validity and multiple-entry tourist visas for the major frequently-requested destinations (UK, Schengen, USA, UAE, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong). For destinations requiring specific visa applications, we request fourteen days' notice to arrange.

How are accommodations arranged?

+

Separate rooms on separate floors, or a two-bedroom suite, arranged by you or your travel team. We are happy to coordinate with your preferred hotel concierge or to book through our own trusted relationships — whichever is simplest.

Who arranges flights?

+

Most clients prefer to book flights directly through their own travel team or private-aviation provider. We ask that companions travel in the same cabin class as you, for consistency of arrival experience. Our concierge is happy to assist with ticketing at cost if preferred.

What about dietary restrictions or cultural considerations?

+

Please share any dietary requirements — yours or those of hosts you'll meet — when we open your engagement. All our travel companions are briefed on cultural etiquette for your destination, including dress, greeting, and table protocol.

Can companions travel on short notice?

+

For domestic travel, yes — often with 48 hours' notice. For international, we strongly prefer at least a week, and certain destinations require more due to visa timelines. Genuinely urgent travel engagements are discussed on a case-by-case basis with our director.

Do you operate in every country?

+

We serve twelve cities directly and will travel with clients to nearly any legal destination. We do not currently accept engagements in countries where our companionship service would not be legal, nor in conflict zones or regions under active sanctions that would compromise our operating standards.

Chapter Four

Privacy & Discretion

What does your discretion agreement cover?

+

Our standard mutual NDA covers your identity, professional details, family members, photographs, the fact of the engagement itself, its contents, any conversations, and any locations visited. It is mutual — protecting both you and your companion — and enforceable in the jurisdictions in which both parties reside.

Is photography permitted?

+

Personal photography is at your discretion and only with the companion's explicit consent for that specific image or occasion. Event photography (e.g. a gala photographer) is permitted if you are comfortable with it, and our companion will follow your lead on whether to be in the frame.

Will we appear on social media?

+

Never from us or our companion. Our discretion agreement prohibits any public mention — by social media, press, blog, or private group — of your identity or our engagement. This applies in perpetuity.

How is my personal data stored?

+

All client information is held on encrypted servers in the EU under GDPR-compliant terms. Only the founder, the director, and the companion assigned to your engagement have access to your details — each on a strict need-to-know basis. Records are retained for six years for regulatory reasons, then permanently destroyed.

What happens if I'm recognised at an event?

+

Our companions are briefed to follow your lead entirely. If you introduce them by a specific backstory — a colleague, a friend, a date — that is the line they hold, even under direct questioning. If you prefer no introduction, they remain pleasantly at your side and say nothing of substance. We also prepare contingency responses for any common lines of questioning in advance.

Have you ever had a breach of discretion?

+

Never. This is the single condition on which our house is built, and any companion who breached our discretion agreement would face immediate dismissal, forfeiture of the significant financial bond they post on joining, and contractual penalties that would deter any rational person. Our clients trust us because we have earned it, quietly, every year.

Chapter Five

The Companions

Who are your companions?

+

A deliberately small circle of articulate, well-educated, well-presented people — most holding university degrees or higher, several working professionals in their own right, and all carefully vetted over a four-month process. They are not models or actors cast for the evening; they are individuals who have chosen companionship as a meaningful, respected part of their professional lives.

What languages do they speak?

+

All companions are fluent in English. Roughly two-thirds speak a second language at near-native or professional level — typically French, Italian, Spanish, German, Arabic, Russian, Mandarin, or Japanese. Our director will always pair you with a companion whose linguistic range matches the occasion.

How does the vetting process work?

+

Seven stages over approximately four months — private application (by referral or approach), two rounds of interviews, professional and personal references, full background check by our verification partner, cultural assessment evening, wardrobe and presentation session, three days of intensive training, and a series of supervised introductions. Fewer than 4.2% of applicants are accepted. Full details are on our About page.

Can I see a companion's profile before booking?

+

Yes. Once your engagement is opened, our director will send you anonymised profiles of two or three shortlisted companions — full photographs, height, languages, interests, and past engagement style — so you can confirm a pairing that feels right.

Do companions have specialties or fields of interest?

+

Yes — and we pair accordingly. Some companions are particularly strong in art and auction contexts, others in finance or technology circles, others in fashion or film, others in academic or literary settings. Where possible, we match you with someone who shares a genuine interest in the world you will be moving through that evening.

How old are your companions?

+

Most of our circle falls between twenty-five and forty-two. All are adults, all have been independently verified to be of age at time of application, and all are exactly the age they present as. We are happy to match you with the age range most appropriate to your occasion.

Chapter Six

Payment & Policy

What payment methods do you accept?

+

Wire transfer (preferred for engagements over $2,500), all major credit cards, AMEX corporate cards, and — for House Account clients — consolidated monthly invoicing. International clients can be invoiced in USD, GBP, EUR, CHF, AED, or SGD. For client privacy, the invoicing entity name is understated and generic.

Is a deposit required?

+

A 50% deposit confirms all new bookings. The remaining balance is due 48 hours before the engagement begins. For travel and multi-day engagements, we agree a bespoke deposit schedule in your private agreement — typically one-third at booking, one-third 14 days out, and the balance on departure.

What is your cancellation policy?

+

For standard engagements: full refund (less a 10% administration fee) for cancellations more than 48 hours in advance. Within 48 hours, the deposit is non-refundable and covers our preparation. Within 24 hours, the full engagement fee is payable.

For travel engagements: cancellation terms are bespoke, reflecting flight and accommodation commitments already made. Terms are set out in writing at booking.

Is gratuity expected?

+

Never expected, always appreciated. Our fees cover the companion's compensation in full, with margin for our team. Any gratuity you choose to add is passed in its entirety to the companion. For significant engagements, gratuities of 10–15% are the customary gesture, but this is entirely at your discretion.

Can I pay anonymously?

+

Our standard invoicing uses a discreet corporate entity name unrelated to the nature of our work, so card statements and bank records show only a generic services line. For clients who require further privacy, payment through a trusted family-office or concierge entity is entirely acceptable, as is payment via cryptocurrency (USDC, BTC, ETH) for engagements over $5,000.

What happens if the engagement is interrupted by illness or emergency?

+

For genuine emergencies on either side — documented illness, family crisis, or travel disruption — we credit the full engagement fee to a future booking at no administrative cost. Our director will handle any third-party cancellations on your behalf and recover deposits where possible. We are reasonable people running a reasonable house.

VII · International & Cross-Border

Operating across borders.

A short guide for principals whose lives — and ours — pass through more than one passport.

Where exactly is Noble & Hours registered?

Noble & Hours LLC is a limited liability company formed under the laws of the State of New York, with New York Department of State filing number 5884721. Our principal place of business is 685 Fifth Avenue, 20th Floor, New York, NY 10022. We operate worldwide through affiliated studios and contracted representatives, but our governing entity, our books, and our legal jurisdiction are all New York.

Can companions travel internationally for an engagement?

Yes — international travel is one of our most-requested service categories. Our companions hold current passports, U.S. and Schengen visas where applicable, and the wardrobe and language preparation expected of someone moving between New York, London, Paris, and Dubai with a week’s notice.

For destinations outside the founding cities, we ask for ten days’ notice; for the four founding cities, forty-eight hours is sufficient against a retainer.

What languages are available?

Our active roster maintains professional working competence in five languages: English, French, Italian, Mandarin, and Arabic. Specific dialects, accents, or regional registers can be requested in advance and matched where possible. Conversational competence in additional languages — Spanish, Portuguese, German, Japanese, Russian — is available on request.

How are engagements invoiced when they cross multiple jurisdictions?

Each engagement is invoiced from the United States by Noble & Hours LLC in the currency of execution. Where the engagement triggers VAT, GST, or a similar consumption-tax obligation in another jurisdiction, that tax is itemised separately on the invoice and remitted by us to the relevant authority where we hold a registration; where we do not, the principal is responsible.

For principals whose family offices require multi-entity structuring, we work with the principal’s tax counsel to issue invoices to the correct entity in the correct jurisdiction. This is standard for our retainer clients.

Which law governs my engagement?

The Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement and the Terms of Engagement are both governed by the laws of the State of New York, with disputes submitted to the state and federal courts of New York County. Should an urgent injunctive remedy be required in another jurisdiction — for instance, to stop a publication in London or Paris — we may seek that relief locally, while the substantive law of the agreement remains New York.

Principals whose own jurisdiction has mandatory protective rules (the EU’s GDPR, for example) will find their rights preserved regardless of the choice of governing law.

How do you handle data protection across borders?

We comply with the New York SHIELD Act as our base standard, and additionally with the GDPR in the European Union and United Kingdom, the CCPA in California, and the UAE PDPL in the Gulf. Where personal data of a Client crosses an EEA or UK border, we operate under Standard Contractual Clauses or an analogous transfer mechanism.

Practically: your name and details are held in a closed system accessible only to your client director, the founder, and the head of vetting. They are never disclosed to companions, vendors, or third parties without an explicit, documented authorisation from you.

Can I engage Noble & Hours through my family office, holding company, or trust?

Yes — a significant portion of our work is invoiced to corporate or fiduciary entities rather than to individuals. The Mutual NDA accommodates this directly: the “Client” signature block can be executed by an authorised officer of an entity, with the underlying principal protected by the same confidentiality regime.

Family offices coordinating engagements for a principal who prefers anonymity are a familiar pattern; we have a documented workflow for it, and our Director of Clients can walk your general counsel through it on a single call.

What happens if a companion encounters difficulty abroad?

Every international engagement is supported by a 24/7 operations desk in New York and a local fixer in the destination city. Our companions travel with our private legal-assistance number, our travel-medical insurance, and a pre-cleared wardrobe and accommodation plan. The principal’s exposure is, by design, zero.

In the rare event of a cancelled flight, a misplaced reservation, or any disruption to the engagement, the operations desk re-routes within hours and the principal is informed only of the resolution.
